Subjective FR Methodology Layer

Subjective FR is the evidence-based, non-deterministic layer of the system. Scores are estimated from curated fighter-profile material and intended to capture style/capability information that sparse record data alone does not express well. Active fighters are scored for estimated current ability/state; retired or deceased fighters are scored at estimated prime age.

FiteQuant Rating (FR) is the internal fighter rating framework used to structure model inputs across the platform. This page covers the subjective FR layer.

Quick Navigation

This page explains what the subjective FiteQuant Rating layer is intended to represent, where its limits sit, and how to audit its influence in-product.

Interpretation Boundary

Subjective FR is the subjective layer of the FiteQuant Rating framework. It is an evidence-constrained scoring layer built from fighter profile material, not a claim that the platform has direct access to full punch-by-punch truth for every fighter.

The point of the layer is to encode style and capability information that is not captured well by sparse public bout-level records alone.

What Is Exposed Versus Hidden

FiteQuant exposes the factor categories and the user-facing stat controls. It does not expose the full internal prompting or the detailed scoring rubric used to translate source material into every subjective stat.

The goal is interpretability without handing out the full scoring implementation.

How To Audit It

The practical way to audit the subjective layer is not by reading hidden prompts. It is by changing its influence in Model Builder, then checking how those changes propagate through Matchup, Results, and strict Backtest.

If reducing subjective influence materially improves or stabilizes a model, that is visible in-product.
